Use two scripts, one that downloads stuff other than sanesecurity, and one that downloads sanesecurity. The one supplied from their site will work on Debian as is (at least when I tried it did).

Code: Select all

Code: Select all
http://www.retrosnub.co.uk/sanesecurity/script/fetch-sanesecurity-sigs

The above script works except it doen't give the good permissions on new downloaded files (user/owner should be clamav/clamav).

Just above #configuration, add the following lines :
Code: Select all
### Additional var for fixing permissions on new downloaded files ###
clam_user="clamav"
clam_group="clamav"

### Configuration ###

finally at the end of the script, just before the commented line # Finished; display summary and perhaps reload clamd :

Code: Select all
# Set appropriate file access permissions
chown -R $clam_user:$clam_group $clamd_dbdir

# Finished; display summary and perhaps reload clamd

Thanks mr88talent for giving the link of the new sanesecurity's script.

Be warned, people are attempting to debug some clamd crashes at this time that may be related to the either the script or a signature file.
